Hotel di Garut - Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge, who is also the current Miss England beauty pageant holder, has lately disappointed thousands of Brit men! Known as “Combat Barbie” in her army regiment, the gorgeous Corporal has convinced judges to replace the swimsuit round in the Miss England contest with a sports round.
Garut - Katrina, the brand ambassador of lingerie firm La Senza believes being fit should trump walking the stage with sexy bikinis. “I think it’s nerve-racking enough for girls to get up on a stage and speak, let alone appear in a swimsuit,” the Royal Anglian Regiment corporal told Britain’s Telegraph.
Kat signed for the army at the age of 17, after being challenged by her brother. She was awarded the bravery award and promoted to corporal for taking down two armed men with her bare hands in order to save lives of her fellow comrades in Iraq.
According to reports of UK Telegraph, 2009 Miss England, Katrina Hodge raised her voice against bikini or swimsuit competition for girls. She said it is better to include a round of sports challenge or fitness challenge in beauty pageant competitions or any other beauty contest.
Katrina won the Miss England contest in 2009 and represented her country England in Miss World contest in 2009 in South Africa. Katrina is 22 now and she joined army at the age of 16 only and served in Iraq. Her army pals lovingly call her as “Combat Barbie” and she is famous by this name.
Katrina also represents a lingerie company named La Senza, but she told British Telegraph that the bikini round in Miss World contest is not at all fair. Katrina told a sports challenge round orfitness challenge round should replace bikini round for fair judgment.
The judges of Miss England competition are already convinced by her statement and they will implement Katrina’s suggestions in the coming event of Miss England contest. Katrina is planning to direct the new sports component of pageant and she said it is good to see that girls will be given the sports challenge instead of swimsuit round.
